“ Have been looking for a fine dining experience near the villages and finally decided to go a bit further north to Ocala. After reading reviews and checking online menu, made an online reservation to celebrate a birthday in our household (which we noted on reservation request). We appreciated knowing prices in advance (from website). While some will say it's expensive to dine here, based on quality of meal and service, we had no problem with the cost. GPS brought us to our destination and we opted to park in community free lot as the restaurant's lot felt cramped as we drove by. Walked in and were greeted and seated immediately. There was a card from restsurant on table for birthday celebrant and our waiter, Kyle, also acknowledged the reason for our dining visit. After discussing different menu items, we ordered meal and settled back for an extremely delightful culinary experience. We split the pear mascarpone purses appetizer (very good!), had the duck and lamb entrees (large portions), and split the soufflé for dessert (that day's soufflé flavor was strawberry and rosemary)! From start(er) to finish, this was the type of meal we'd been looking for, for awhile. While the all red walls are a bit much to me, they work with the overall decor and feel of the space. I can see us returning several times as there are many dishes on the menu we'd like to try in the future. ”
“ We ate at La Cuisine for the first time last evening. Chef Perron warmly greeted us shortly after we were seated. He also checked on us about midway during our meal. We both had French Onion soup for starters. For our entrees I got Cassoulet and my wife had Chicken Airline Breast. I had never had cassoulet and was very pleased with it. The bits of cured pork belly really made it pop. I highly recommend it. The airline chicken was good. My wife loves mushrooms, so there was plenty to make her happy. The portions were large, so we didn't have a dessert this time. After dinner as we left, Chef Perron again expressed his gratitiude for our business. A very nice touch for us to feel valued. I would next like to have their Sunday brunch. After reading that menu, I've got to try it. ”
“ Our first visit, in with friends who live locally- also their first visit. The space is warm and inviting and very reminiscent of a classic French bistro. The large bar at the entrance offers bar and table seating and a huge liquor selection. There are two additional dining areas as well as a lovely porch (faces the parking lot) but wayyy too hot for outside right now. Our group brought our own bottles - corkage $25, well worth it. We started with a glass of nice bubbles at the bar. Bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. When our friends arrived, we were guided to a nice table at the rear of the dining room. Service was attentive throughout but we had difficulty getting lemon (asked three times before one slice delivered) and our request for an extra wine glass went unfulfilled. Staff seemed to be on the young and less experienced side. Our escargot was among the best we've enjoyed, and the hunks of fresh bread made dunking in the garlic butter a requirement! Our friends ordered a shrimp appetizer which they also enjoyed. Our mains included beef bourguinon, short ribs and two orders of cassoulet. Everything was tasty, and although the cassoulet presentation was different, it was flavorful and rich / delicious! Desserts were also terrific, including a crème brûlée and homemade creamsicle ice cream. Definitely a good spot in town. ”
